Katie is a multi-media journalist currently writing for The Lowell Sun-- a daily newspaper north of Boston. Receiving her master's degree in Journalism from Emerson College and undergraduate degree from UMass Lowell, she was also a division 1 athlete on the women’s track & field team. As a lifetime student athlete, she has a passion and appreciation for all sports. Kickstarting her career at Channel 7 News in Boston, she worked alongside the sports department and control room becoming well-versed in the production, writing, and broadcast processes as a production assistant. She also coached track and field coach at her former high school. She's seen sports from the three major angles– playing, watching, and coaching. She is a people-person with strong communication and event planning skills.
